Southside, anyone? Head to the Island this weekend @jaynesgastropub
You can argue about it until you’re blue in the face or blue blood: some claim the Southside cocktail comes from the tough streets of Prohibition-era Chicago, others point to the Hamptons where it has become THE quintessential drink of the glitterati. The Journal (that’s the “Wall Street Journal” to those of you who don’t summer on the Island) even devoted an entire article to the origins of this “particular privilege of the privileged class,” a tall cooling drink of gin, lemon juice, mint, and soda.
We debuted our Southside this week @jaynesgastropub. If you’re not heading to the island this weekend, please drop by and try one with us (happy hour 5-6:30).
This weekend our menu will be featuring local, shucked-to-order Kumiai Oysters and our irresistible Buttermilk Fried Chicken.
