Taste the Blue Danube in your glass tonight @jaynesgastropub

the perfect pairing for our San Quintin Mussels from Baja…

Above: The UNESCO-protected terraced vineyards that line the beautiful Danube river in the Wachau Valley in Austria produce some of the world’s tastiest and most food-friendly white wines.

Grüner Veltliner from Austria is the grape that EVERYONE is talking about right now: bright acidity and gooseberry, green apple, and white pepper flavors make this wine the ideal accompaniment for So Cal seafood, like our Thursday-night mussels:

Large San Quintin Mussels from Baja with Spanish chorizo, razor-thin sliced garlic, gently braised leeks, heirloom tomatoes, and grilled La Brea Bakery baguette crostini in a delicate, savory white wine broth. A whopping order 14.50

Recommended pairing: Domäne Wachau Federspiel “Terrassen” Grüner Veltliner 2008, 10 glass, 38 bottle.
