We hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful late fall, always the most fashionable time of year.  Coats, scarves and boots love fulfilling their true purpose.   We have been happily edging towards winter here at Jaynes with new dishes and bevvy delights abound…

New menu items:

Washington State Sea Scallops on Saffron Scented Israeli Cous Cous with Alba Mushrooms, Candy Beets, English Peas with an Heirloom Tomato Coulis
We’ve been feeling pretty darn good about our wine program here at Jaynes (which is a full time job unto itself) and we are greatly expanding our beer selections.  We’ve added over 20 new beers in the past 3 weeks and will keep expanding and hunting for hard to get handles and bottles.  We just teamed up with San Diego’s Taphunter, a great site showing real time draft handles for our great beer establishments here in San Diego.  We just updated the blog beer list and it automatically updated at TH.  I love tech that works.  Why people still design flash sites that won’t open on the iphone baffles me, but Im a content purist……

We have some amazing bottles on the list right now at every price point and the reserve list has some real gems.  I know Ive spoken about this wine before, but I want to remind everyone about the 2001 Lopez De Heredia Bosconia Tempranillo from the Rioja Alta region.  Lopez de Heredia is among the few remaining traditional winemakers in Rioja and creates some of the most powerful, unique and often misunderstood wines. Definitely in our top 3 most beloved wines here at Jaynes.  Read our friend Jeremy’s review on his great blog Do Bianchi.
