Scenes from a second honeymoon, part 1: Zuni in San Francisco
1658 Market St
San Francisco, CA 94102
Sunday night found us celebrating our first anniversary (can you believe that it’s been a year?) at one of our favorite dining destinations, Zuni Café in San Francisco.
We were there the night before ex-New York Times restaurant reviewer Frank Bruni and we agree with his assessment that the food is as “flavorful as ever.”
You really can’t go wrong at Zuni and we highly recommend the raw bar there.
We drank one of our favorite Loire Valley wines by Eric Nicolas, the 2007 single-vineyard Coteaux du Loir “L’Effraie” Domaine de Bellivière, a killer very much terroir-driven expression of Chenin Blanc. We agree with the Wine Doctor that Nicolas’ Chenin is one of the most unique wines of the region. Check out his profile of the winery here.
Thank you everyone for all the nice notes we’ve received on the blog, on Facebook, and via email. It’s been an amazing year for us on so many levels and we couldn’t do it without the love and support of our family and friends!
On deck for tomorrow, part 2: drinking Nebbiolo at Chez Panisse.
