I struggle to understand how those 3 beers represent a style unto themselves. 2/3 have coriander, 2/3 have > %8 abv, and one of them is a wit from Japan.

I consider “Belgian White” to be very broad category and we served three high quality examples under a wide definition of the term. We weren’t slinging Blue Moon. The use of coriander is definitely a very common ingredient in Belgiums including those classified as “White”. The Hitachino brewery set out to brew a Belgian style wit beer. Is it from Belgium? No, but there are a ton of breweries around brewing in the Belgium style and this was a far left field example that really stands out in terms of its floral, tea like flavor profile.
